Yeah, sorry I didn't comment sooner, but that is really good looking pixel art. Not exactly sure how easy it would be to animate, but it does look good.

Holy crap, you were right about the animating being a bitch, took forever just to get this to look halfway decent. I’ll keep working on it but for now I think I’ll focus on making backgrounds.

If anyone knows any pixel art animation tricks let me know.

About hentai fighting games, i'm trying to make one, a free 3D fighting game, it is highly inspired by Smash Bros, and it's simplicity since i don't like games that require you to memorize combos or button combinations, it has a Smash Bros like gameplay, but with healthbars, however making a fighting game is way too hard, so for now my game is a 2D fighting and platformer, because for now there's no VS mode, since making artificial inteligence is hard, but i'm trying to make the AI, that way my game would have VS battles similar to Street Fighter with Smash Bros controls. Anyway, that's my project, you can check it out here http://enbarriolasdiosas.blogspot.mx my game's blog, so you can see my progress. I'm also planning on releasing a demo sometime soon, but for now, if someone wants to help me with almost anything in my game, that would be great. Greetings!!!

Hey, I was wondering how you'd like to go about doing this, oneeye. Do you want me to pass you the engine while you add the resources and do the level editing? Or would you rather just make the art and pass it to me? If you want, i can make it real easy for you to build levels.

Considering that my laptop seems to be slowly dying on me, I think it would be best if I sent the stuff to you. Also how’s your Corina Convex character coming along, you finish making her design/ back-story yet?

I honestly haven't been able to do any character development. I was busy setting up the engine. Do you want concept art and my sprite draft that way you can finish her up? Also there's a guy on the discussion forums who is amazing with frame by frame animations. You should go to him with your work for pointers. His name is off topic.

Yes that would be good as I want to get at least the basic models done so you have something to test the game with. For the first demo maybe we should have two to four characters just to keep things simple.

Didn’t toddymon say he wanted to help with the art as well? That would help out a lot as I’m still teaching myself pixel art and with my current schedule it will take me a while to make decent art for the game by myself.

Speaking of which this is what I’ve been working on lately. I’ve basically just been practicing creating random environments.
Here we have a mountain range at night (ill might make this the background of another stage down the line:

Oh my God his animations are incredible :shock: ; we should have asked him to help with the project!

Hey that man, I made a sketch of your Bisque character based off your drawing of her. Tell me what you think and what color her skin and clothes should be. (p.s. drawing a good looking top hat is harder than it looks.) (p.s.s. I kinda suck at drawing hands/feet but I’m working on it. :D )

@oneeyzero
I always pictured her with an overall blue color scheme on her clothes, and normal human colors for everything else.
Also, yes Off Topic is good.

So, the main reason that I'm posting this is because it has been almost two months since the last post, and I need to calm my paranoiac delusions that something awful happened to everyone else. I've actually determined that fighting games are something I'm not good at playing, but this project is still too interesting to just flat out abandon because of that (right?)

Also, oneeyezero, I forgot to say this before, but if you need help with backgrounds, that's one of the main things I draw.

Hey, guys. sorry for the delay in transmission. my engine has come as far to fruition as I wanna deal with, as of now. it's ready for deployment. All I need is content. That Man, do help in creating backgrounds, that's one main thing we definitely need. One eye, I need to revise how the sprite sheets work. So today, my focus is on bitmaps. here's a build of my engine in teh works. It's a vector model, but I can probably switch everything out to pixels in a jiffy:

Ok, it's good to see that you're still alive, and that the engine works ok. I'll try to get a background up, but I'm not 100% sure on which design I should use for now.

If the engine you're working with can handle .obj models or works well with blender and python scripting then i will be more than happy to help ya out. i'm a free lance 3d modeler, not amazing at the animation side but the rendering and creation of models is my specialty

Ok, I'm not sure if our engine can, but, it should at least do something like sprite maps with 3d figures. At the very least, I would like to see a test character done before we decide.

It's basic actionscript 3. It's very rudimentary in the 3d dept. The only thing 3d I'd do ok at is making maps for source, like a half-life 2 first-person-fucker. But there're a few groups on this site that are making the move to 3d and I am in complete support of it as 3d makes things a bunch easier. So show us some of your work, I'm always curious to see art!

Hey guys sorry for the wait, computer died and I had to save up for a new one. As a result I haven’t had that much time to work on the project. :cry:

Terrantor!!! I sent you the file containing the models I made so far. There not perfect yet and ill probably end up changing them as I learn more about pixel art but it should do for the sake of testing purposes.(I also wanted to make sure you got these in case something weird happens to my new computer.) Made an idle, moving forward, spore attack, a crappy looking jump (ill redo this one later) and a crouching animation. Look at them and let me know what other models you’d need.

Yes that would be a great help. Why not start by making a background for your character. Maybe a steampunkish looking factory or something?

I would also like to see your work. I volunteered because no one else was stepping up and I didn’t want this project to end up like so many others. If anyone thinks that they can make better models then me then by all means go ahead.

Ok then. Does it have to have the platforms built in/can it move?

For now a still background is cool. We can add extra stuff to it later.

Still learning how to animate sprites in Photoshop properly, think I’m getting a little better at it.

Thatman, I'm still screwing around with your character’s design. This time I gave her a longer dress, a corset and made her look a little younger. What do you think, is there anything specific you’d like to add to her or think needs to be changed back? (Still working on getting her hat to look right, I’ll add it later. Top hats are hard :oops: )

@oneeyezero
Aside from that face I honestly pictured her outfit being a bit less restrictive than full length. I do like the sleeveless idea, though, in actuality, it should be possible to keep this character design around as someone new, since it has it's own, oddly distinct/crazy feel to it...but it could be because of that face.

Also, I'll get some concept sketches up ASAP for that background.
Edit:Got a concept art up.
