good news, even planning for the test-run made my head hurt.. so, NO MOUSE AIMING TODAY.
I'm just going to change the angle on down-aiming to something less sharp, everything else just needs a cleanup.

I'd actually been meaning to ask if there were some limbs, hand-models, or any other things (Like an independent model for the foot(?))

Her armaments match those that Jack use, by the way. I'm sure you knew that tho...

Also, if you find anything hard to make out or if you would simply appreciate models with thicker lines (or at least darker ones) then you can just ask.

Nonsense! I love the series on a personal level and look forward to designing these. (Although I'm a little conflicted on Rei.)
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

"Conflicted" 'cus in the recent movie series, she dons a new black plugsuit, so... maybe both...?

As for if the train has brakes or not... well, not really. I have free time, and my age of lurking has passed. Feel free to toss some requests my way. Otherwise, I'll probably go down the list chronologically and by priority. -3-

I cut a few corners here-and-there..
ankles dont really move that much -- same look, cleaner, easier.

I might give her a new gun later, maybe a pistol, maybe a shotgun..
and maybe a tech-tool too..

here's what I'm looking at when I trace,

alright, I closed the original trace-window before seeing this post, but you get the idea of what I'm doing..

not a huge issue, but compression/size could be a little better.
I can make most of the pieces, but this means I won't have to use any imagination on the tricky bits (like hands.)

ObsidianVoid Wrote:new black plugsuit

I (and -maybe- some other people) like being able to match colours to make original costumes, so I'd be more excited to see a dark set.
..unrelated side-note: it's been a while since I got any hatemail

Let's not get ahead of ourselves now. Shotguns are two-handed, and unless we defy physics (like dem breasts) then we'd need some new animations. But if you need my hand, I'll be there at a whim. Screw logic, I have porn.

I could have sworn they were larger/clearer when I had saved the file. Either the site compresses the pictures (even further) for me, or I've been saving things in a small format all my life. Woe~

Unfortunately I can't send you a larger format at the moment. One of the perks of satellite internet is horrible service when the casuals are up and about. 4MB files just cause the page to crash on this site. Works well on others though. Odd.

Oh look, it works.

And two last things. Some of your current (and future) animations might conflict with the helmet's mouth-piece. Unless the whole helmet was gonna come off.

I've got plans to make a new set of animations for dual-wield and two handed weapons, swarm is going to be a more traditional game with actual weapons over just having different skins.

I'll make two versions of the headpiece, one a helmet that gets it's own animated layer, and one in accessories that's 'glued' to her head.

Oh I've been just kinda lurking LOK very little lately so I didn't realize you were going back to this game, awesome :D

Let me know if you ever need any more zerg/metriod like stuff, got plenty of them already made and can easily make more. Glad to see yeah back :3

Thank god, Corta's getting back into it. Hope you stick around, you're by and far my favorite, your animations are incredibly smooth and the splatformer's controls just felt natural.

And ObsidianVoid, you're doing a sweet job with those characters, keep up the great work.

the story I've got planned involves the zerg, so I could use more non-boss all-the-time type enemies.
banelings, larva, drones -- stuff like that would be awesome. (and light on code ;) )

luv ya :P

Unavoidable, I'm afraid. Could try reducing size, or I could reconstruct them alltogether for a more slender feel/look. Since it's just the hands, results shouldn't take but a few minutes. Suggestions would be welcome.

See if I can redo the legs a bit. The designs are not symmetrical

Otherwise, I'll have this EDI out soon. Can't ignore the giant 'Robots Wanted' sign any longer. -3-

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Also just realized Asuka also has a new suit. There's the red one and there's the red one with orange details. The latter is more skin-tight and 'revealing'. ImageImage

Thanks mate. Hope I can do ya proud.

Progress so far:

Tali: 100%
EDI: 100%
Plugsuits:
- Rei [Original]: 30%
- Rei [New]: 50%
- Asuka [Old]: 40%
- Asuka [New]: 90%
- Mari: 10%
True Midna: 10%

Have an EDI...and a pun.

been messing around with game controls for most of the day .. probably not a whole lot of progress, really :?
tali updates coming up when I think I've done it justice

ObsidianVoid Wrote:Have an EDI...and a pun.

luckily, she's got a fairly simple design for the most part, so we're good for everything but the torso.
I know it's cannon, but there's way too much going on at the belly.. even if I did a perfect trace, it'd still come out weird when it gets to outlines.
any chance we could drop the complexity till it lines up more with the back?

no, it's fine.
they look good and they line up with the old ones well enough.
..except when holding a gun pistol style, anyway -- s'why I need to draw me up some boomsticks tomorrow ;)

ObsidianVoid Wrote:The latter is more skin-tight and 'revealing'.
Sigh. Think I'll do both.

..guess I'll start taking the buttons up to 100, then..

I'd had the same stroke of emotion on that, actually. As much as we try to stick to the canon appearance, we can only copy the original to some extent. Rarely all.

I'll see about making her sail-worthy, cap'n.

LOK EDI Chest Edit.jpg
Simplified the chest a tad more. I left the lines around the hips, but removed the implied segmentation. Additionally, you can remove any number of them you see fit if it's bound to be more trouble than they're worth. Just remember to be consistent with the front and back models.

I really like her :D
..something still doesn't look quite right about her shoulder, though..
took me half the time making sure I got the colours right, and I bet I've still missed something.. :?

and yeah, she'll get a chrome skin colour soon.
I've been playing around with a code for tinting shapes rather than using laggy mask-layers or timely paint-by-hand.
the plan was to set up everything so I can add new colours instantly, but the downside was how long it takes to prepare..
I got it working on everything, but I think I'll just use it for hair colours.

just means I'll have to put some time into getting all the old stuff to work with the newer template so everyone can enjoy the new stuff.
the greater good wins! ;)

now, I just need to get another multi-swap-symbol extension to install properly...

It's probably a leftover from Tali. Her shoulder model essentially 'snapped' into place at the shoulder (which was how I'd made her out to be at the time) so I inadvertently kept the model. You can improvise around the shoulder. A little ingenuity goes a long way~

On an added note, we need some established character-request sheet or something. EDI had three appearances to choose from (Human, Robot, Armored) and, while I went with the default Robot, I felt that the human one was a close runner-up -3-

You ever try modifying detailed skin-tight clothes to be compatible with a program that 'snaps' pieces into place without warrant of flexibility while trying to remain true to the original design? I'm an artist, not a miracle worker... but it doesn't mean I didn't try. :?

hate to break the illusion, but I only really use the detail lines to make a trace, and re-use the skin outline as often as I can..
the only reason I copy the outsides is to help line everything up. (if it's skin-tight, anyhow..)
