while I am looking forward to the M/M animations, I can wait. Especially now that I know what caused the delay.

This is precisely my point. I was responding to

He said it wasn't a valid excuse for the people who donated, and I'm saying that I have donated and don't mind all that much. I don't think having donated makes mine or anyone else's input more valid.

Not many people would have been "Giving him hell" for the past few weeks if he posted that message a few weeks ago. May sound cold/rude but he kind of brought that on himself for not explaining himself earlier. Life trouble sucks, but he still ignored communication for weeks with his fans. I'd just like to see that avoided in the future for the fans of this game and his sake as well (So he isn't hounded by comments again).

If that was your entire point, it sure got muddled in that second sentence of yours. Also he said that it wasn't a valid excuse period but with an emphasis on donators especially. Donators are given precedence due to the very obvious notion of giving money to support the project and developer, though there are of course limits, in which everyone can agree. I definitely agree when it comes to "validity" of a proposition, there needs to be some form of logic behind it not just "cuzdonor", but sometimes even then such a simple statement can be the exact defining factor when it comes to certain circumstances. Though in most cases it's not so much "validity" as it is bearing more weight, and it's understandable to disregard this and think that way, from your position or any other person's their opinion would then be valued as much as the next person's. To Hartista though, those are people giving money to him to help enable him to continue his passion/hobby, so obviously their opinions would mean more to him specifically, and it logically should. Though i pretty much stated most of this anyways, and it's pretty much common sense. Giving an opinion/criticism like he did with an emphasis on "donors" makes sense, if only for the very reason that they've given more to the project than others and their support is the sole reason he's still continuing, as stated by Hartista himself, so in his case emphasizing "donors" actually brought validity to the proposition and opinion. Though this is semantics, it's mostly the passive aggressive tone that i interpreted and belittling the importance of donors and you making rash claims/conjecture saying that people are valuing a person over porn that made me reply. If that's truly your only point, then alright, but even then I disagree.

Shit, I worded my sentence wrong; what I tried to type what notice not update . I understand not giving the game an update but disapearing without a notice is just wrong for the donors and to be even more clear, no I have not donated to the game but would as sure hell be pissed if I had. I wrote update because I was thinking about blogs (as in a blog update).

Hi, I just want to make a few suggestions and ask a quest. I'm afraid I can't be arsed to read through 58 pages, so please pardon me.

- This game would definitely benefit from a "sandbox" mode where you don't have an overhead forcing you to grind each month. I know that it does not really matter since you can continue playing even if you don't make ends meet, but at the end of the next month you will still be taxed. I don't mind have a career mode, but sometimes I just wanna screw around.
- Multiple save system would be great. It's kind of a drag to have only one save, and I have noticed that the screen can become dark and the interface will lock up, not allowing you to select anything on the farm when you try to start a new game. It basically requires shutting down the game, loading your old game, then starting a new game.
- The sound for harvesting dickwolves really needs to be toned down. The sounds themselves are fine, but the volume rapes my ears and requires me to turn my volume all the way down.

I know that more animations and a male trainer are both already on the table. I also wanted to ask: is it possible to produce children if the monsters have sex with the trainer?

Yes, it is possible. Better yet, the offspring will always be (almost) identical to the father, with the exception that they might have one of two traits that can only be obtained though trainer breeding.

Big fan of this game. Such a big fan that I made an account just say how fun and addictive it is.

One suggestion though. In the breeding window, there are drop down lists so that you can filter by species. Is it possible to filter by gender? So that in the top list of monsters shows all the male monsters you have and the bottom shows all of the females?

It isn't a feature yet, but maybe if you ask him he will include it. He's pretty cool about that. I think it will be needed when you start getting more monsters to breed making the breeding window crowded. Though I am pretty sure he said the current breeding window is just a temporary fix so people can play the game.
Go to his blog at http://breedingseasongame.blogspot.com.au/ He is more active there.

A note. He is going to lose his job pretty soon and won't be doing any flash work until he understands his situation better. So expect to wait a month at least for any kinds of updates.

As for the multiple saves and sandbox element. I don't think the game needs either. Multiple saves would be good for when there is more content, but for now you don't really need them. I just start the game over if I mess up too badly, because there isn't a lot of effort to get back to near what you got to.

Hey, sorry I haven't been able to update more frequently.

I just wanted to let you all know: there's an option I'm considering now that I'm going to be out of work for a while.

Particularly, I'm considering making a project on Offbeatr. The project would be for a game I'm tentatively referring to as Fantasy Brothel.

It would be a brothel sim in the vein of the various Sim Brothel games, only it would include the recruitment of randomly generated girls from various fantasy races, and the gameplay would be much closer to that of a class-based RPG. Think of it a little like Final Fantasy Tactics mixed with Sim Brothel.

As you may know I'm barred from putting Breeding Season on Offbeatr due to content restrictions. My plan is to use funds from Offbeatr to support myself while I work on both projects concurrently, full-time. I won't be able to update Breeding Season as often as if I were just working on it alone, however I will definitely be able to work on it much, much more than if I had a regular 9-5.

This is, of course, just one of the things I'm considering, though I'd be interested to see opinions on it.

At this point I would advise against it. With your absence from Breeding Season you burned a lot of trust, whether it's your own fault or not. (Though mostly through your lack of communication)

Before you waste time trying for an offbeater project I would try to rebuild some of that trust with a string of on time (relatively) updates on Breeding Seaons. Don't have to be many maybe 3-4 but if you have those your other project would have much higher chances of success I think.

Yeah, I agree with Kasum.

Prolly best to deliver on some of the winners of the donation voting, in a timely manner, so that you have a comparatively more solid reputation going into the Offbeatr thing.

I can't say I think you're wasting time/doomed to fail otherwise, but Breeding Season progress might be good ammunition against any skepticism surrounding the Offbeatr.

The thing is, though, that 1)regular communication COMBINED with 2)regular keeping of promises is more effective at fostering trust than either one is alone.

If you take nothing else out of the experience I'd recommend that you start keeping an (at least) weekly schedule of news updates.
Same day, same time more or less, like clockwork.
I'd say that's equally important as - if not slightly more important than - adhering to your deadlines and producing quality results.
It helps people feel like you're around, and helps quiet any fears of your fly-by-night (or disaster-induced) disappearance.
That doesn't mean you should update the game every week, of course, just touch base with everyone.

The most successful user of this model that I'm thinking of is Fenoxo (Or at least it WAS, before some recent website troubles, which are probably quite temporary.)
Daily news updates and very frequent game updates - usually of high-ish quality - translated to a high degree of fan faith in the guy's probity and competence.
THAT in turn (along with some other stuff, like publicity no doubt) translated to over one hundred thousand dollars on the Offbeatrz, for his next project.

So... TL;DR = "Keep in touch."

Hartista said he would update 4th August.
Though it would likely only be a small update and he doesn't know the content at this stage.

I would first finish the project or additions people already gave you money for. As for the fantasy brothel, sounds like a good idea but it will probably be even more complex than Breeding Season. Better start small.

Never been that big on those kinds of games myself, but I suppose it comes down to how the gameplay was.

I agree with most the responses to the new game idea. This game is far behind schedule for promised updates and I don't think you should be planning another game until it's caught up. I don't think a new project would get much support when a lot of fans of this have been kind of upset by the lack of updates and communication. I'd really recommend against it. If you put all your time into this game, you'd really get somewhere and then have the ability to work on another project once this is more or less "completed". Then you could continue to add content sporadically to this while working on a new project.

As 777 mentioned, having a schedule that you can follow for updates that people can rely on would really help. Think of Eluku (Creator of Fairy Fighting) who has been updating weekly forever. Even though he doesn't always add a lot of content to each update, people freaking love him because of his consistency with communication and updates (And he does it for free!). Having experience in finishing projects is so important.

Also Sim Brothel type games are REALLY overdone. If there's another on Offbeatr or something, you'd be competing with them. I know there are quite a few in production atm.

As someone else may have mentioned, some people area little blunt/harsh on this project because they like it so much and think it has a lot of potential. So don't think we're hating on it or anything :P We just want to see you and it do well.

As much as I would love to see your new ideas, it's really hard to return to a previous project when you've already started a new project. Especially when you don't have much time. This is my favorite game on this site. I hope you finish it. :)

I think its rather rude to stop working on this when you have been paid real money for it. From what i gather the pay thingy was a Paypal option, money could be asked back if iam not mistaken.
