Sae doesn't know her roots. The first memories she has of herself are as a child, living alone in the wilderness almost like a beast. Since young she had an high affinity for feeling mana and almost naturally as she grew up she learned to channel and integrated it with her fighting style.

She lived years like that and by the time she regained contact with the civilized world she was already eleven years old. She didn't know how to talk and communicate with others but she sure knew how to kick away anyone coming to bother her. Eventually she met an old man whose fighting capabilities were truly exceptional, and after a fight without winner with him she began to follow him around. He took her under his wing, teaching her to talk and fight even better, then he took her "home". Not really a home, as it turned out he was the leader of a mercenary guild. He was a mentor and the closest thing to a fatherly figure she had, but as he was already very old he died after only a few years.

It was then that a certain noble came. He defined himself the old man's best friend and "proved" it with the guild's fundings which all came from his wallet. With the old man death he disbanded the guild, but knowing about Sae's situation he said that he would adopt her in memory of their friendship. And he did so taking her in his family as a daughter. The noble also had a son, same age as Sae, and while it seemed like he had some kind of obsession towards the girl nothing ever happened

Years passed and the noble decided to send his son to a school in a famous academy city, but then he hesitated. The school he chosed was one where they focused on general cultures while giving some emphasis to high arts such as magic, combat and literature, but there were some nasty rumors surrounding it and the whole academy city. Knowing of Sae's past and skill as mercenary he proposed to send her to the same school as her son, but in exchange she would have to keep an eye out for anything strange in the school and report to him, making as little contact with his son as possible as to not disturb his studying.

You've been sitting in the back of a limo for a long time now. It's been a while since you have seen anything out the windows, at least anything really sticking out besides wide patches of green in the form of plains and forests. You could be doing something to keep you busy while you are sitting here waiting for your new home to come into view. But no, you spend all of this time thinking about what to ask once you get out of your ride. There are plenty of them to ask, and you have all the time to ask once you are free from your ride. Or it could be something else, perhaps wanting to take a public transit instead, but this is what your parents set you up with.

You have gotten something in the mail about being accepted to a school... somewhere, and you are given all expenses paid trip to the school. All you know it's a private school, co-ed, uniforms, and it's one you have never heard of in your life. Actually, you do know about this since you know someone who is attending here to learn any secrets that this place. And now it comes the time for you to join this son and help unravel what is going on in the shadows. At least this can be a fresh new start that you have been seeking.

You can see a building coming up through the window and guess that it is the school that you will be attending. All right, so you have finally made it! But as you get closer, it appears that there is more to this than what you gather, finding that you are now being driven into a city than just a school. This place is huge! There's buildings all over the place and you're going to be attending here? Those questions that in your head once again take over, getting ready to blurt out the moment you meet up with someone. Well, this is certainly going to be an interesting experience learning the ins and outs of what makes this city up. Perhaps even figuring out what is going on in the darkness.

Some minutes later, the limo comes to its stop and you wait for the driver to open the door to open up. You got up from your seat and made it out, finding yourself outside of what looks like a hotel plaza with a fountain spraying in front of you. Just as you got off, you can hear the man behind you say something, like "Enjoy your stay Miss Yoake," before getting back into the limo and driving off, leaving you with only your bags as you stand outside on a sidewalk with students dressed up in their uniforms, chatting things up as they head off into the city to attend their classes, or whatever they are doing.

Well then, it's time to see what this place is all about...

The trip is long, very long, but eventually Sae arrives in what she believed would be a school... and in fact was, though it appeared more like a city, a very big city. It was almost unbelievable for her to get into such a school, and it would be realistically impossible if not for the noble backing her up. Well, the reason she's here is to investigate the place but... what problem is an investigation job when she has the possibility to enroll and possibly graduate from such a school? Not that it's really important to her "career" as she's fundamentally a mercenary, but fundamentally adding this school to her curriculum could only be good... right?

Eventually the limo she's been riding to come here comes to a stop, letting her out in what seems to be a hotel plaza despite the multitude of students going around. She just nod to dismiss the driver, then turns around and observes her surrounding, half-enjoying the view and half-starting to create a mental map of the place. The students are pretty much ignored, and when she's finally done looking around she turns toward the entrance of the "hotel" and heads inside, trying to find if there is anything similar to a receptionist or concierge.

Taking what bags you are brought with you, you make your way inside of the hotel and find that the place looks as fantastic as it does outside. There's not really a whole lot of people inside walking about, only just one or three students lounging about, so it's pretty empty. You do hear the sound of heels clicking echoing off the walls and you notice a person heading in your direction. She looks very important, wearing an entirely different uniform from the students, and she has a certain swagger to her in her walk. She lets out a hum when she got close to you, and she has an arm extended out to greet you. "Why hello there, this is a pleasure meeting you!" she stated, her voice sounds... off, slightly. "You must be Miss Sae Yoake, correct? We are aware of your arrival and I'm here to greet you personally. My name is Esmé Neroni, one of the many head admins here in Glaugiams, and I'll be your guide here in the Mahou District." The woman turns around and motions for you to walk with her. "Come, we need to get you set up here with your room and then we'll be busy having to run around getting you through the whole orientation process."

Heading inside once again Sae begins to looking around, trying to take in all the majestic of the building... though this time she can't do it as much as she would have wanted. Unlike before, this time she does notice someone, a person heading in her direction with an attire different from the others students roaming around, and as guessed the woman seems to have business with her <Sae Yoake, nice to meet you> she returns the greeting, though her tone of voice is slightly dull. Well, the woman's tone seems to be a little off too, so she doesn't really see a problem.

After listening to the woman Sae just nods and begins to walk, curious about her room and... right, all the luxury made her forget for a second, but the main reason for her presence here is to investigate so her usual attitude might not be so good. Not that she planned to change as there was still no real need for it, but at least for now she could talk a bit more <Orientation?> and it doesn't go very well, getting only a word out... well, at least it's a start, no?

The admin gives you a friendly smile as you head on over to the desk, taking the lead as she looks down at a clipboard she is holding and looking through the papers. "Yes, we do have an orientation for all newcomers to Glaugiams," she explained, keeping her eyes down before stopping directly in front of the desk and working on filling papers that are on the counter. "Usually we have a more grand ceremony for a larger crowd but since you are the only one coming today, we do have a private event just for you." Listening to her, her voice doesn't sound dull, it is very enthusiastic that's for sure, but she doesn't sound very much like a female at all. But much like the luxury of the hotel, you need to focus more on the words she is saying rather than the voice itself. "By the end of the week, we will have a special ball for all students to help get them to know each other and the older students, but I do have a special event that I'm sure you'll enjoy," and she reaches for something at the end of her clipboard and hands you an envelope. "Show this to the bouncer once the party starts and you'll be in for sure."

Ms. Neroni gives you another smile as she goes through the papers on the desk and lets you fill out everything that is there for you. "So, just to let you know, we did almost set you up in the male wing here, on account of your... 'brother,' being a student here, but after we got the final details, we're putting you in the female wing and setting you up with some roommates in a presidential suite. For nobility and all that fun stuff." You hear a whistle from her and the sound of wheels rolling against the floor. Behind you is a cart for your bags, and Ms. Neroni heads on off. "You're in Room 956D, and you need anything give me a ring!"

Sae just follows, taking in all the info <Private event?> she's a bit surprised they would go to such an extent, though being her "father"'s "daughter" it's not impossible. She also makes a mental note to attend the special ball as, even though it doesn't sounds like something she would usually like, it would be a good chance to get a general idea of the student population and maybe even find out something interesting <Is the special event related to the private one?> better make sure if they are two different events or not. She also takes the envelope, putting it into her poket before starting to fill out the sheet she's handed. She also kind of ignore the comment about her brother and nobility, completing the papers and handing them to her with a <Thank you> before putting her things on the cart, though the last comment from the admin confuses her <Ring?> she didn't really understood what it meant, and makes another mental note to ask someone later.

Done with her luggage she would head to her room, asking when needed so wouldn't run in circles, while in the meantime completing her mental map of the place where she'll be living from now on.

You didn't get what she meant by a ring, since the admin is clear on her way out of the hotel, and you are left by yourself to get your luggage up to your room. And up you go, since your room is all the way to the top and it is going to be a long way up without some kind of lift to get you up. And thankfully you have a bellhop close by to assist you in getting your things where you need to go, along with pointing out the directions to where your room is. After some minutes of getting you from the lobby to the highest floor of the hotel, you found yourself standing right outside of your dorm and the bellhop presents you the key to the dorm, explaining that all students get keys to their own personal rooms to prevent others from visiting, unless invited. You are left by yourself once again, as the bellhop heads off down the hall carrying the cart back down and going to do his business. Well, time to find out what is waiting on the other side of the door and see who is going to greet you.

The woman leaves and she's alone trying to figure out where to go. Luckily there is a bellhop to lead her around and bring along her luggage, so soon enough... well, not so soon but anyway, after some time she finally arrives in front of her room and the bellhop gives her a key, explaining that she has a personal room and various details before leaving. Once he's gone however, she doesn't go directly inside, as something caught her attention. The admin said that she'll have some roommates, while the bellhop said that she has a personal room so... what is the truth? Considering what was said she comes to the conclusion that the suite is organized like an apartment with various personal rooms, and to see if she was right she opens the door, taking her luggage and heading inside, curious to see the place she'll be living in and the girl she'll share such place... if there are any of them right now. After all she saw students going away, so it's not impossible for them to be at school right now.

Using the key on the door, you unlock it and find the suite to be just as what you would expect... only grandier to say. After all it is a presidential suite and you are walking in a large living room that looks similar to what the nobles have back home. There is a fire going on in a brick fireplace, meaning that there is someone here if they have a fire going, and all of the lights are on as well. Taking a look around, you notice that, along with a kitchen, there are four other rooms, each labeled with a different number and letter. So instead of just one girl, you could be staying with three others, and one of them is here to meet up with and get the rundown on how things work around here. And hopefully once you get an understanding of things, you can find the closest place to get a bite to eat as you didn't get anything before you left on your trip here. Or you can check out the kitchen and see what is in storage for you to cook up as well.

You hear a door opening up from one of the hallways along with some footsteps. You prepare yourself to meet up with this individual, as the footsteps get louder and louder with each steps. Eventually you are greeted to a girl, and you know she is one since she has absolutely nothing on to cover her features, besides a towel that she is using to clean herself off with. Once the towel is removed from her face, the girl promptly freaks out at the sight of you and bolts towards one of the rooms. She probably wasn't expecting you to show up, judging by that reaction...

Sae opens the door letting herself in without making a sound, just looking around while comparing the room with what she guessed it to be and finding out it exceeded her imagination, though not by much, but still. She takes some steps inside, closing the door behind her and letting the luggage on the ground and scanning the place for any roommates. Apparently someone was there judging from the lit fireplace and lights on, and it was possible for three peoples to be there as there were four of what she guessed were the personal rooms. She wanted to look around a bit more, but her stomach let out a silent groan reminding her that it's been quite a while since she last ate something and should remedy as soon as she can, so she takes another step... only to be interrupted by a door opening and a girl coming out of it, bare of anything but a towel.

Luckily there wasn't any awkward silence since as soon as the girl noticed Sae she sprinted away in embarrassment. Sae on the other hand just sighs and continues with what she was doing, postponing the introduction and just proceeding to her room to leave the luggage, then she'll head to the kitchen to find something to ready to eat or fruit if there wasn't anything else.

You head on over to your room and get the door unlock, opening up the door to reveal what lies on the other side. And much like what makes up the living room and kitchen, your room is looking beautiful to the eyes, along with the view out into the city. Barren as it is now, somehow it still looks amazing like someone attempted to replicate your room back at your old home. A king sized bed with curtains, a walk-in closet, a vanity area and a little corner to do your studying... all that is missing is your personal touch and soon you will be right at home. Once you get your bags inside and taken care of, you head on back over to the kitchen and start exploring what is there for you to eat. Another door opens and the girl you saw earlier steps out, now wearing a uniform much like the others down below, and she looks over at you with an embarrassed look. "Heh, s-sorry about that," she said, rubbing her head sheepishly. "I thought you were coming later today, not this early..."

The surprise is big when Sae opens the door to her room, revealing just how much thought had gone into assuring she felt at home... though all that similarity also made her feel like someone back home went into her room without permission. The last thought is quickly shacked off as Sae heads off to the windows, enjoying the view from above while, as usual, familiarizing herself with the layout of buildings. The habit of making a mental map out of anywhere she went, a good one or bad depending on the point of view, but definitively something ingrained in her mind since her younger days. Watching the scenario however doesn't last long as once again her stomach reminds her his need to be feed, so Sae makes haste in unpacking and heads to the kitchen, looking around for anything to eat and eventually settling for some apples. In the meantime she hears a door opening, and not much later the girl from before appears, apologizing for flashing her before. Sae's habit to just ignore things that don't concern is about to kick in when she reminds herself that not only she'll be sharing this room with her for quite a while, but also she never know when she'll be of use <Don't worry about it> she doesn't add the "can happen" as it's not really something that can or should happen ofter <Sae Yoake, pleasure to meet you> maybe this time she cut her words too short, but to make up for it she extends one hand to greet the girl and, once they're done introducing themselves, if the girl doesn't add anything she'll conclude with <I need to go for orientation so... see you> and she'll take off, but not without first taking along another apple beside the one she's already eating.

The girl, an auburn haired girl with purple glasses and a cute little flower on her head, gives you a smile and extends out a hand to shake yours. "Aiko Fuimoto, it's certainly a pleasure meeting you," she said, radiating warmth from her being. She takes notice that you are in a hurry to get moving, and she grabs a banana, following right behind you. "Oh, orientation? Since you're new and I'm on my way to class, I can take you to where orientation is being held, since it's in a building across the stream from where I need to go." The two of you head on back down into the lobby, chewing away at your fruits, and soon enough you are walking along the streets and joining the other students on their way to their classes. You can see there are many different forms of operation going on here, and it's hard to imagine that if this is a school, then all of these buildings are classes for students to get their education. But what matters right now is your orientation and getting through all of that. At least you have a guide to help teach you some of the basics here.

After the introductions are done Sae proceeds to leave, heading towards where the orientation will take place... though she doesn't know where it is. Luckily her roommate not only seems to know, but is also willing to take her her, so she nods and thanks her before following her down to the lobby and finally out the hotel-dormitory. Their pace is quite high, but nothing problematic for Sae who once again remain surprised when looking at just how big this school was. Along the way however she didn't remain silent, as this was a good opportunity to get some infos <What is this orientation about?> is the first question she has, that is soon followed by <I heard they usually have an event for new students, but since i'm alone they'll do something private... you got any idea about it?> small pause, before continuing <Ah, i also heard about a special ball held this weekend with a special event... i'm quite curious about it> for now she doesn't mention about the ring, not forgetting about it but keeping it for later.

Aiko puts a hand to her face and gives it a scratch, trying to recall what goes on during orientation. "Well, I know that for when there are only a small amount of students, they have these small events for them, but basically it's a small scale orientation presentation that gives you the rundown of how the school, or at least this particular district of Glaugiams," she explained, giving a wave to a couple of students passing on by. "I don't think there was just one person, but you should be fine." She continues on with her smiling, doing her best to get on your good side, while keeping an eye on the path ahead to make sure she isn't crashing into anything. The smile grows wider when you mention about the ball and she claps her hands. "And I can assure that attending Miss Neroni's event is a blast! I really can't say much about it, but know it is a girls-only event and the staff there makes sure that all of us have a good time, get to know everyone and just let loose!" There is a spring in her step when she mentioned this, showing some excitement for what's to come this weekend. Perhaps if you find Neroni again you can extract some information out of her and learn more. Eventually your guide notices her destination and stops in front of a theater. "Well, here you go," she said, pointing to the building. "The show should begin in a few minutes, so get a good seat~!" Aiko leaves you with a wave as she crosses the street and heads on over to her class. Peering on inside, you find the place to be operational, looking like a lobby to a stage theater with a concession stand, and staff lounging around.

Sae just nods, taking in all the information she gets and trying to ignore the less interesting part such as the "let loose". She didn't really want to "let loose", as every time it happened there would always be a death count. Yep, her definition of "letting loose" was quite different from other girls, and while she knew their meaning of it she didn't like it. Well, in the end for this "investigation" to work she had to mingle in, so she would at least pretend to adapt to their meaning of letting loose.
After a while the two finally arrive in front of what it seems to be a theater <Thank you> she just thanks her for leading her there, then waves her off and heads inside, first looking around and then following Aiko's advice, which would be finding a good seat. Not that there is a lack of them, as other than the staff there doesn't seems to be other peoples in there.

As you head on inside making your way towards one of the theaters, you find Neromi chatting with one of the people working behind the counter. She looks over to see you and hums excitedly, walking over to you with open arms. "Well well, aren't you ready for what we have to show you today?" she asked, curling a smile before taking a hand of yours and leading you inside. At least seats aren't a problem if this is going to be a private event all to yourself, and looking up on stage, things are about to begin. The admin allows you go get your seat first, following right behind you before seating right next to you. She keeps up with her warming smile as she looks towards the stage and claps, signalling for the show to begin. Everyone clears off and leave everything be for just a few minutes before a few girls, dressed in the student uniform, walk up and start talking. "This isn't long, just to give you a general idea of how we operate around here," the admin said, her smile showing some hint of deviousness as she focuses on what is being on display for all of you.

Heading inside Sae spots Neromi not too far from her, and soon enough the admin notices her too and approaches <Yes, let's go> she answer, once again forcing it a bit as usually she would just not answer. While heading inside Sae feels that it's the right moment to ask about the ring, so before reaching a seat she asks <Before you asked me for a ring... what did you meant?>

Eventually the two reach some seat, with Neromi letting Sae sit first before sitting right next her and finally give a sign for the orientation to begin. Sae doesn't notice the admin's smile as she's more focused on the girls that got on the stage and were beginning to talk about something. Since apparently this would give her informations about how things work about her Sae just focus on them, trying to take in all she can while trying not to wonder what the private event is.

The orientation spent its sweet time going over some details to know about the academy. The first thing is that the school was founded centuries back as five separate universities before eventually one individual came along and united the schools together one banner. The schools themselves are specialized in different fields, separated into districts to allow students who are gifted in certain areas to be taught there. Although for those who want to go to these districts, either for visitations reasons or to transfer to another school, they will need a pass to get over. As for the schools themselves, they are comprised of the current area, the high magic school Mahou, a school that caters to creatures of the night, inhumanoid beings and general other monster types known as Monstrum, a school that houses all major, minor and dead religions Monkseaton, another school dedicated to the practices of dark, dreary and evil Murlock, and finally a run-of-the-mill school perfect for those who are just regular humans Medium.

As the orientation is going on, you can feel something rubbing against your leg, and looking over at Neromi you find that her hands are at her own side. You aren't certain if she is rubbing you as you are focusing on the performance, but there's no other person in the room and she is the only one who can do such a thing. At least they were light and short brushes, but why though? The orientation goes on to explain that the school, while runs on an universal time from nine in the morning to five in the afternoon, all of the classes run on their own schedules. Mostly because all of the classes are businesses, each run by clubs made up of students. There are no teachers, only the students are teaching themselves the things they need to eventually head on out into the world. Along with this, students have jobs to get themselves money to help keep the classes and clubs afloat, otherwise things will go under and will have to go elsewhere to get their educations.

The orientation seems to take longer than she thought and focuses quite a lot on the school history, explaining how it's made up of more than one universities and so on, leading to an long explanation that, while doesn't exactly bore her, it isn't really interesting. Anyway she takes in all the info she can, though suddenly she feels something rubbing at her legs. Looking away from the girl speaking to look at Neromi, Sae can see that her hands are where they should be, so she's probably not the one bothering her... though she seems to be the only one capable of doing so. But Why? How? She doesn't know, but the explanation is continuing and she doesn't want to miss anything as finally the girls speaking were talking about the lesson systems, so for now Sae decides to ignore whatever is rubbing against her leg, though she does shift them to try to avoid whatever is touching her.
