Basic Bio: Astrid is the older daughter in a family of four, consisting of her mother, father, herself, and younger brother. She is incredibly smart, able to basically understand computer programming at a glance and knows her way around tech, though some newer stuff still might take her some small amount of time to understand. Many tend to think of her as aloof and indifferent like many people are, and to be fair she sometimes can be when she's deep in thought and shutting out external stimuli. However she's actually quite enthusiastic and vibrant, and loves pursuing knowledge and helping others do the same. While she isn't a teacher by profession she is happy to help others, as long as they are willing to help themselves. In general she has a rather strong moral code, but is known to bend it if she deems the reasons for a valid greater good by assessing things from a less emotional and more pragmatic and objective point of view. Despite all that though she does tend to trend towards slight introversion, and has thus developed an interesting array of sexual tastes and fantasies.

Long Bio:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

In her younger years Astrid was essentially a child prodigy, enjoying some manner of short lived fame in her younger life as she was touted about as a child genius. The fame was short lived, but it was enough that it allowed her and her family to raise a decent base of extra capitol. These funds were used to send her to expensive higher end schools where she could expand her knowledge, which she consumed like a ravenous animal. She accelerated through such schooling systems with ease, finishing high school while barely in her teens. In post secondary life she followed in her proud parents foot steps, studying computer programming and electrical engineering. By the time she was 20 she already had a doctorate degree in the former and a Masters in the latter. Every thirsting for more though after finishing her doctorate she quickly started another field of study in robotics, but would pursue it at a more casual pace.

Within short order she naturally got the the attention of another famous scientist. One Aldric Richter, another prodigy like herself, but more seasoned in age in his 50s. The owner of a large custom programming and robotics manufacturing firm, she was soon hired onto his company as his personal research assistant, and there Astrid learned much. Aldric was a genius in every sense of the word, but with over twice the time on Earth his knowledge spanned so many subjects it was a wonder how his mind maintained it all. Programming, engineering, biology and chemistry and medical science and beyond! She helped him with everything, and she learned all she could from him. Aldric, thrilled to have a companion on his level relished her company, and over time would treasure her above anything. Aldric however was a... perverted man. He could not deny his attraction for Astrid, but he did not act on it much beyond fantasy or the odd playful flirt. He valued her company far to much to risk it on what he knew was lust. Besides she was so much younger then him. He had some degree of honour and decency.

For the next five years life would go on, the two designing many things and completing many custom programming contracts for Aldric's company. The world changed overnight suddenly however when the Logica Eversor Nanoplague, a disease for robots in just about every possible sense of the word, was unleashed upon the world by the Cult of Earth's Rebirth. In the chaos that followed as millions died by the flailing and erratic actions of hundreds of billions of robots and simpler androids turned suddenly into crude LLM like AIs, Astrid and Aldric quickly become part of a group all over the world working together in a race against time to save humanity before it was too late. Coordination was difficult as the world continued to crumble, held together only by somewhat safe space infrastructure. As the plague swept the Earth the smallest containment break could see disastrous consequences, especially around military installations. Often times autonomous vehicles and military robots would go on killing rampages, and that was if one was lucky. Some bases would sometimes would erratically launch nuclear warheads at random targets, which often times had to promptly nuked in turn to quickly stop the threat of more randomly launched missiles.

For two more years this fight would go, cities falling until only a few last bastions of humanity remained. Humanity reduced from billions to precious millions. Worse still as the time went on the machine learned more and more, soon forming tribes and little societies as they slowly marched to some degree of true intelligence like other purpose built AIs did. Many retained their violent tendencies, but the more of the net they consumed the more it was noticed that many of these robots would soon start doing far more perverse things to humans and even other robots or androids they caught. As the situation evolved as well, it was soon learned that humans themselves were not completely immune to the nanoplague. Their minds and health was not effected, but it was soon noticed that fertility rates were dropping to dangerous levels. Sterility was essentially assured past the age of 24, meaning if humanity was to remain they would have to start breeding relatively early in life.

Astrid was not immune. She eventually found out she was infertile and was devastated by the news. Soon after however she would have her chance at revenge. The Cult of Earth's Rebirth Strong hold had been found, and a raid would be conducted in order to obtain the original source code for the Logica Eversor Nanoplague. Once it was done, then all the survivors could pool their resources to make one last true secure home. One city advanced beyond compare and immune to the cult's apocalyptic weapon. She was asked to join a special operations team in getting this source code, her programming skills deemed essential to the effort. She agreed.

Aldric however was against the decision at first, terrified at the prospect of losing his young friend. Astrid however would convince Aldric to her point of view by ceasing the flirting and upgrading their relationship to a more physical one. She did not care about their difference in age, and she got to know Aldric very well over the years. It was easy for her to see his attraction, but social norms kept her away from him as much it kept him away from her. With the world on the brink of annihilation however, and Astrid now infertile, she threw away her inhibitions. Astrid and Aldric shared a week of passionate and often down right devious love before Astrid left to under go some basic training before the mission.

To Aldric's devastation however Astrid would not come back from the mission whole. While the mission was a success Astrid was grievously wounded. Her body permanently disfigured, broken beyond repair and kept alive by extensive life support needed to support every bodily system. The only saving grace however was that her brain, while deep in a coma, was barely injured beyond light bruising. Her mind was intact... and Aldric could work with that. As the old movie line went, he could rebuild her...

And she would be perfect.

You snap to awareness suddenly. While you're far from groggy, almost hyperactive, your total lack of awareness and knowledge of how you ended up where you are leaves you stunned. Your hand manages to strike a clear surface, and you realize you're floating in a bio-tube, something that was being used to manufacture specialized 'soft' robots and mechanical parts for biological upgrades and replacements. Recalling that you may or may not have been shot repeatedly, you have to admit that it would make sense that they'd have to patch you up, but 'live' manufacturing in situ was definitely theoretical at the time you went on your mission. Looking down, you're a bit stunned, as you appear to have no skin. Looking at your frame, you find silvery metallic soft muscle strands criss-crossing your form, and a series of glowing machines deeply embedded in your chest. Well, under your frankly stunning tits if that's what these massive sacks can be called.

Staring, you see a small hatch in your sternum plating open, a small glob of silvery metal which you recognize as nanobots moves around, dragging a small bit of muscle up your side and down your arm. A glance shows you've got what has to be a space set aside for the muscle on your thumb, an 'empty' set of straps seeming to be the last little bits. As they make the connections, the silvery liquid seems to soak into tiny ports and you can *feel* them working their way back to your core to get new instructions. With a start, you realize that this really was the last the bit of muscle you needed and it's shifted to doing your skin next, the liquid silver extending and now a layer of your skin tone spreading out from your chest and wrapping your body. A slight tickle indicates you've got hair, although it's definitely crawling down you.

So... you're now a brain in a jar tier cyborg if you're not misunderstanding. Of course, something pops up in your vision, but not actually blocking anything, like you've got a dedicated 'eye' that overlays things into your vision. You're listed as complete, but the date implies... that it's been more than a few years since you 'died' even if you're completed now. That said, the outside of the tube you're in is not a good sign, while the tube seems to be whole... there's a few spiderwebbing cracks present, and the room is far from clean. The tube also seems to be giving off quite a bit of red light. With a 'ting' a hatch in the top top of the tube releases like you're in a glorified toaster and ready to pop out. You manage to swim to it, pulling yourself out of the tank after a few moments of struggle.

Managing to hit the ground slime drips off of you, and you manage to stumble back to your feet. You've probably never used these muscles before, but you find they quickly start to respond, almost instantly, and with more than a bit more force than what your natural body could put out. You could definitely get used to having some serious muscle. Still, with some investigation, you find a shattered corner of the building, and you find a desolated but very overgrown area around you. In the distance, what has to be some kind of robotic pack of animals roams and seems to be in the process of eating a small building and pooping out... something that is slowly being stacked up. In the far distance, you see what appears to be tall buildings, glittering in the sunlight.

When Astrid awakes it is a... nerve wracking experience to say the least. She finds herself suspended in some kind of medical suspension tank, unable to move with a myriad of connections hooked to her. Robotic arms slowly swivel around, doing some kind of work that she can only just barely see as her eyes begin to flit around. It only takes her a few moments to realize that she was looking around from the view point of some kind of cybernetic body, the tight synthetic strands of muscle that made chest and shoulders quite telling in that regard. That realization quickly makes her panic and anxiety spike however. Why was... why was this? How did she get here? She struggles to think backward, but her recent memory is blank. The last thing she can remember was Aldric's sad eyes as she left to go do some quick and dirty training with the assault team before the raid on the Cult of Earth's Rebirth compound. She had volunteered to be the computer specialist on that raid, so they could get the source code for the Logica Eversor nanoplague.

Something had clearly not gone to plan.

Mercifully it seems whatever process the tank was going was finishing up as she feels a cool sensation run over her, and as she looks around smooth flawless skin begins to form on her, long hair soon tickling her back amid the various connection still plugged into her. One be one though they begin to pop off, and one last ones comes free suddenly she's able to move. A sudden ping noise from above alerts her to the top hatch being unlocked, and Astrid wastes no time. She swims through the gel to it and manages to pull herself free with ease. From there its a simple affair to hop down.

She lands on sturdy feat, surprised and not surprised at the same time due to her new body. As she fully stands though she gets a clearer look at the room around her. A layer of dust covered everything, the only signs of movement being rodent tracks or the wheels of some random bot that had rolled through, though even those looks days old at the freshest. Looking back at the tank there was cracks in it, maybe caused by minor earth quakes or something. This place had clearly been abandoned for quite sometime... why was she here?

Looking around some more she finds a wall mounted mirror across the roam and goes to it, the gel on her skin dripping off and rapidly evaporating as she did so. Once there she examines her body... she looked very similar to her regular self, though her hips were wider and her breasts bigger. "What on Earth... Aldric... who must have had a hand in this...", she whispers under her breath to herself. She does a little twirl in front of the mirror, marvelling at her balance as her long cascade of golden hair swirled around her. She was beautiful... well she was always beautiful, not to toot her her own too much, but she had a highly idealized figure now no doubt about it. She pushes her bangs away from her face to look at her icy blue eyes, seemingly to glow ever so slightly in the dim light of the room as she looks herself up and done. It seemed her body was... vividly life like, judging by the bright pink nipples on her tits. She cups them gently and gasps slightly as pleasant sensations rush up her spin and tickle her mind. "Oh! ...huh.", she hums, naturally that reaction makes her eyes wander lower, and sure enough there is a perfect hairless slit tucked between her legs. She snakes a hand down experimentally to trace a finger along her vulva, and sure enough gasps again when she gets a strong pleasure response from the very light touch. "Oh my! More then life like even... Aldric you pervy dog.", she mumbles as she examines her long powerful legs and cushy rear.

After a few more minutes of that though she quickly realize she had much other more pressing priorities to take care of. Where was she? What happened? She finds a few random scattered papers on a nearby desk but finds nothing useful, the paper crumbling quickly and seemingly to be just text from some upper level biology text book anyway. Unfortunately there was nothing to wear in this room either, so that meant wandering around nude for now... awesome.

It doesn't take long for her to find the exit to the room, and when she does she gets another mild surprise as she recognizes the hallway immediately. She was in Aldric's lab, just in a room that looked very different then she last remembered. Crossing an arm over her large breasts she quickly retraces her steps through the building towards Aldric's office, moving at a good jog as she did so. Like the room she had been in though the building was lifeless and desiccated, dust and and random debris just laying about, the only lights on the filling the whole place with harsh red light that indicated emergency power had been on for quite sometime. When she gets to Aldric's office though she opens the door only to be momentarily blinded by glaring light. Her new eyes adjust within moments however and she quickly realizes the back hall had fallen out, revealing the outside world.

The city seemed to be much like the rest of the building. Abandoned, like so many had been during the Logica Eversor Nanoplague crisis. Last she remembered this had been one of the final few cities still standing however. Now though vegetation had begin to reclaim parts of the surrounding commercial area. In the distance she can spot roaming animals as well, but the closer she looks she sees that they are in fact robotic nature. Some kind of... reclamation or recycling variety by the looks of it as they munched on some random building and... refined the materials, in lieu of a more vulgar term. She scans the environment with a stunned expression, enough so that the arm covering her breasts falls to her side as she just stands there naked taking it all in. It was beautiful in a way... but once again her anxiety spikes as she realizes she's missing not just months, but years, many years! Maybe even decades!

She gets a grip on her mind quickly though, realizing that panic never helped anyone. Looking further ahead their appears to be new buildings on the horizon. Was that the haven city project maybe? Wasn't that on an island somewhere? Or maybe the buildings were just that big? She checks around the office quick, hoping she might be able to access Aldric's computer for any information, but unfortunately anything on his desk had been destroyed after being exposed to the elements for so long. Looking back to new looking buildings though she... supposes she should head that way, sine this entire area seemed rather lifeless.

She exits the office and heads to the stairs, making her way down through the building to the front entrance. She'd head toward her old home first nearby, see if there was anything she might be able to use there and to satisfy her own curiosity about it's state.

Even as you find your body exceptionally sensitive, you try to stay focused on your surroundings doing a decent enough job. As you survey the distance, you see quite a bit of jungle across the area between you and the city, although there are some gaps, likely riverways or something similar. How long must it have been for there to be changes in geography beyond a few craters? Forcing yourself to focus again, the strange demolition crew of animalistic robots is still quite some distance away, at least a klick, so you could probably skirt them if you so chose. Other directions seem to lead to differing areas, more related to plains and forests than jungle, which is unnatural for a real biome. You don't hear or see anything else around you, and begin working your way down the building. Simply focusing on getting down seems to highlight grabs and with little conscious thought your hands and feet grab onto them. You were never an athlete, but now you feel like you could definitely compete!

Getting to the ground is another new experience, your feet seeming to not care at all that you're standing on broken concrete, simply feeding you basic tactile information and possible shifts in structure. The body is truly incredible, and Aldric definitely outdid himself when working on the premise, as you can only assume that he created a basic AI program to do all the grunt work. You idly wonder about your internals, as the only part of you you've seen is the skin and pseudomuscle underneath it. A quick check indicates you don't have a heart beat, but you can feel fluids moving through you. At least you think so. Do your new muscles still use oxygen and... sugar to generate energy? Are they electrical? So many interesting new questions to look into.

Crunching along the road, you find the run down and partially collapsed building that was your old apartment. It's definitely no longer safe for human occupation, but you're not really human anymore, are you? Your room doesn't seem to be damaged, but it does look like you could clamber your way up the side of the damaged walls and force your way in, possibly finding yourself some clothes at least. The only thing you've heard so far are the various forms of nature like birds and insects screaming about how horny they are. You could try to find your way into the collapsed building to investigate, or possibly loot, you could head vaguely in the direction of the city, or you could pick another direction to head.

As Astrid exits Aldric's lab she can't help but feel a little overwhelmed. She must have been out of action for clearly sometime, and while she was no stranger to the Logica Eversor nano-plague causing rampant robots and factories to create new varients of bots not designed by humans, she had never seen anything quite like she was seeing now what with the whole... robotic recycling robots. Not to mention to whole change of geology to boot. Granted, it wasn't super drastic, but enough so that it made it hard to recognize at first glance. If she hadn't recognized she was in Aldric's lab she might not have never have realized that she was basically home already.

Leaning out the door she looks around, but sees the front plaza like area for the lab overgrown in some areas and very abandoned. It seems that there hadn't been any human habitation here in years. Perhaps even decades. She takes a few tentative steps out into the open, unable to to stop a blush from gracing her face do to her nudity. It was a surreal feeling to say the least, with more then a little exhibitionist thrill to it. She was probably completely alone here, but she still couldn't help but think she was doing something so improper and risque. She brushes a lock of blonde hair from her eyes, her other arm still over her breasts out of sheer female habit, then sets out for the short walk back to her apartment. It wasn't far thankfully; only a couple blocks.

Her walk is slow and cautious, but it gives her sometime to think at least. She spends half the time war gaming in her mind what the heck happened and trying to remember what had happened, but no matter how she tries to focus the last think she remembers is saying good bye to Aldric before she left to get some really quick and dirty special forces training before the raid on that cult's compound. The other half of the time she is simply marvelling at how physically capable and durable she was, the work that must've went into designing this new body she found herself in. She felt strong and capable, despite the sensitivity she also had, and was quite happy that her feet didn't hurt at all despite the somewhat ragged ground. Samll pepples, bits of glass... she could feel it all, but none of it hurt at all. Could she just not feel pain? She gives herself a pinch test on the arm, and is actually glad to feel a smarting sensation after she applies a considerable amount of pressure. That was some incredible tactile programming! She could still feel pain, but it seemed like the threshold was much higher. She wondered if she might be able to mess with that. She did have some form of minimalist heads up display, there must be ways she might be able to modify her own parameters. The question was how much could she could do, and whether or not any special equipment might be needed, and if there was any that was needed, was any of it intact? Maybe she should've explored the lab a little more...

Well she could always goes back she supposes. For now though, she had arrived at her old building.

It was a pretty ritzy condo building. Not to honk her own horn too much, but she had been a rather prominent scientist and quite the minor idol since she had been so smart at so young an age. That and she was Aldric's personal protege and... technically lover right at the end before her memories seemed to stop. She had been paid very well, enough to have one of those fancy five bedroom 4 bath, two floor loft condos that every character in a New York sitcom seemed to live in. Much like the rest of the city though it was overgrown and run down, is mostly glass visage broken and shattered in several places. Worse wet though was that it seemed like something had caused a great deal of damage on the east end of the building. It looked half collapsed, with all the balconies having fallen into a huge pile of twisted steel and concrete. Further investigation revealed a blackened scared hole... a rogue defence system launched cruise missile perhaps. Well, luckily her apartment was on the west end of the building.

Unfortunately though it seemed the partial collapse had basically rendered the lobby inaccessible, the floor above it collapsing into it. Looking up though she could probably get into the building relatively easy with her new cybernetic body. The side of the collapse when plenty of sheered pieces of rebar she could pull herself up with, she she didn't need to go up that far. Her condo was on the 12th floor of the 15 story building, but all she needed to do was climb to the second or third floor and hopefully she could get inside and use the stairs from there, or barring that, maybe she could use the emergency ladder in one of the elevator shafts.

With that decided, she sets out, starting the haul herself up and try not to remember that she was bare ass naked still as she pulled herself up, taking her time to make sure she had solid hand and foot holds.
