So, since it's been a while since my last post in this thread. Figured I'd update y'all on the status of humanity:

So yeah, I've been playing through this Super Metroid rom-hack called "Metroid Super Zero Mission." As the name may imply, it makes an effort to "fuse" Super Metroid and Metroid Zero Mission together, substituting Super's Grapple Beam for Zero Mission's Power Grip. It was definitely hard up through the Ridley battle, but that difficulty was always fair...

...and then, I got to a part I like to call "Metroid Gear Solid." Y'see, where Zero Mission gave you a stun pistol and a somewhat reasonable stealth section to worm your way through, Super Zero Mission gives you invincible Space Pirates that can't even be frozen, an overabundance of "drop into flock of enemies you had no way of knowing were there" moments, and damage levels that can see your life blitzkrieg'd away by a mere 5 Pirate blaster hits. Add to this how the Save Rooms do not refill your health, plus how the actual health refill stations are few and far between...and one could imagine this segment as having turned the difficulty up to "Samus Must Die" degrees.

I think I'll just let Ms. Aran do this for now:
