Necromorphs could be a bit slower as well... but not so slow as in dead space.

The idea is simply amazing thats for sure but the game is seriously off the hook. Great job!
An adult game which is actually a good game after all!!!
This can easily be the 2nd masterpiece after Sakyu.

Well 2/10 completed games is better than PlayShapes' record I guess.

You obviously don't understand your importance to this community. Don't make me start a change.org petition to revive your ass.

Before you guys make fun of me, suck it 'cause I beat Sakyu without whining or griping or cheating or using walkthroughs. But I really, really, really suck at this game. I wander around, activate the console in the lab, and then get the living snot beaten out of me by the very first two baddies. And then I'm dead. And then I have to start all over again. "Playing" a game for two or three minutes just to get to the five seconds where I keep dying sucks. How do I save my game? Why doesn't "continue" seem to work? Why are chocolate and peanut-butter so good together, and I love Reese's Pieces, but hate Reese's Peanut-Butter Cups?

These are the things which keep me up nights.

Hahaha....

I haven't put the save state in yet, which is why the continue button DOES NOTHINK. I actually think the game is too easy right now; maybe you are missing the key combat element: you have to shoot off their arms and legs to kill them, body shots won't do anything but slow them down. Two shots and they are dead, so it isn't terribly difficult... even easier if they are stacked because you can take out multiple limbs with one click.

Of course I just made the game and put in the damage mechanic, so it still needs tuned. I will probably look at revising their speed or change the fact that they spam attack you once in range without break.

They use a different type of peanut butter in the Reese's cups; you might not like it. True story.

HEY! ITS NOT NECROPHILIA! IT is.... ummm.... NECROMORPHILIA.... totally different. They have a pulse.

10? Has it really been that many? Let me think...Dusty's Castle, Metroid: DNA Hunters, Sakyubasu no Tatakai, Sakyubasu no Tatakai 2, PsyRen, Kingdom Hearts: Light's Darkness, Dead Space: Frequency, Malicia! Dark Heroine, ummmm I think that's it?

so its 2/8. 25% Boom! I actually do plan on finishing this one though, for reals.

Slower. Definitely slower. I can't shoot these Necromorphs until they are on top of me, stopped, and attacking. I can't do body shots that slow them down, I can't shoot their limbs off at a distance, I can't even shoot until they are right there on top of me. It might be my reaction time, that I am not clicking fast enough to hit them while they move, or that my computer is just not up to snuff (certainly possible). It's manageable enough in most situations, since once you've killed them all you can recover. But when fighting the Mandrake, where they keep coming at you endlessly... My suggestion would be either A) Make them slower so they can be clicked while moving, or B) Let us shoot without clicking the 'morphs directly.

Aside from small matter though? This is fantastic! I mean, once you come to terms with... dead bodies... fucking... so wrong... so.. HOT.... so... *brain break*
It's good that the sex does not happen on death. For one, of course, no good to reward failure. Two, it gets irritating when playing a porn game to have to weigh making progress against seeing the seks. Third, as it is, with the sex scenes only happening when you run the program at the terminal, in-character it can be chalked up to either a ritual for the Marker, a computer simulation, or a horny daydream while numbers crunch, should the player not be entirely comfortable with the thought of getting down with a recombinant virus. It might be a bit too much for many people to have these guys running through the halls with their undead dicks just flailing around as they try to kill/eat/rape poor Ellie.

P.S. Great fan of your work! You always exceed any level of expectation. Even if you go no further with this project (R'lyeh forbid!), it's certainly been a pleasure. Also, I knew the game-making itch would get to you again eventually. ;) Dagon protect you, good man.

Ia! Ia! Indeed...

So, I killed a necromorph today. Yay me! But alas, my stupid computer is too stupid to mouse smoothly, and I died again. I'll have to try on a better machine.

Anyway, the real reason I was writing was to comment about game-over rapey goodness. You know, I'm a big fan of plundering, but I hate having to throw a game just so I can see the stickin'. I've always wondered why more people don't make "heroine loses=rapey rapey!" games where the player is a tentacle monster or giant rape-robot or something. At least that way you get to see the sexy bits when you do something good, and it still gets to be rapey.

Just my two cents.

P.S. I knew there was something off about that peanutbutteroid stuff! ;)

I understand the combat element but the pointer gets really fidgety when in combat mode which makes it impossible to aim. I've killed 8 Necromorphs in total and can't battle more than two at a time without getting annihilated. I found it easier to play the game in full screen to slow them down but even still, I just can't get that cursor to aim smoothly.

Please, please, please, stick to that! Everything you've made, all of those 8.25 games have been really cool and this one is looking phenomenal for early stages. I would love to see you finish this and I'm glad retirement didn't stop you! :D

...THAT IS EVEN WORSE. The word necromorphilia would mean love for transformed dead. And I do think that doing stitched up corpses is a bit more extreme than doing regular corpses.
Also it is a bit odd that you can't just shoot at anytime you want or that the necromorphes do not get staggered when shooting them with an plasma cutter but whatever. Sort of feels like one Duck Hunt for nes :D.

Well the way I coded it, the limbs and body parts actually trigger the firing, not actually clicking the mouse button. It is much easier to control what is getting hit this way (instead of the game looking to see what the mouse is over, the object being shot tells the game it got hit (if that makes sense). As far as the other thing goes, I always kind of lumped zombies and the like into monster sex. I wouldn't call it necrophilia; it is a grey line, but it is there.

Also, since updates will probably be a week or two between, I figured I would add some community fun to the process. If anyone wants to help and get a credit title in the game, I could use some background doodads. My style is pretty simple so don't over complicate the art or else I won't use it (whats the point of a background object that sticks out like a sore thumb?). But if people want to draw up some background objects that thematically fit the following areas: Reception, Security, Administration, Living Quarters, Labs, Maintenance, Geo Thermal, Sewage it would be great and save me some time.

Just post them in this thread and I will use stuff if I think it fits

I personally find zombies monsters made of corpses to be dead bodies that just move but I guess it is just a matter of perspective. But meh to each his own :D

On the other hand here is something you might use (so hard to draw with muse only and without lines ._.).

I can't believe people are saying the game's too difficult already. I suspect Gore's gonna give them nightmares when he puts in the real enemies.

It's not that the game is *hard* exactly; rather, the controls seem to be squirrely on some peoples' computers. Sakyubasu was hard--but beatable. I can't even *aim* at the damned things 'cause the crosshair gets so choppy when they're chasing me. And it sucks that they don't seem to pop out of the walls until I'm right next to them; since I'm about the same speed as they, I can't get enough distance to get set up properly before they start stabbing me.
