Whoa, hey, that's a really neat touch, the way that the angel shows up on the opening screen when you get her.

Also

... Wait, the mask protects you no more than ragged old Leather Armour?
This is as disappointing as slam, the oneshot, turning out to be garbage.
Ah well, the scene was kinda cool, though.

The best way ive found is there is a small window of opportunity when you get close enough to attack one of them. What you do is you hit them once hold attack to dash past them. then. once they try to counter you, turn around and attack them again. Be warned you have to time this well each time. after they land they will go up to use the tri shot. then you can hit them when they ascend if. Iff you dont reach them in time the next attack they use will be their normal witch is impossible to block but able to dodge.

That's what I meant. I couldnt get pass around 2000. I found another way though.

Nor to I plan to implement any. When the game needs tested, it needs fully tested. From the beginning. No skipping to new content only :evil:

Which attacks? You were never able to block their melee attacks. I will check the volt shots to make sure those are blocking correctly, though.

From others reports looks like I messed something up in the way the scene progresses. It is actually 3-4 loops with a gallery and armor unlock. I will look at it tonight, thanks!

also after the scene with the spirit mask is over and you get taken back to the arena, i lit the fire again to see what happened, and it seemed like something on the top right of the screen disappeared. i only saw it out of the corner of my eye so i'm not sure what it was, but i THINK it was the spirit mask's health bar, so um i assume that's not supposed to be there (edit: or it could've been one of those wavy black walls that stop you exiting the area, which would make a little more sense but i still can't see why you would deliberately put them there. however, if you did then please forgive me!)

Good feedback, thanks! You should be able to airdash while falling, but I will double check to make sure something didn't get oops'd codewise. There is a small internal cooldown associated with air dashing, so maybe you did two too close in a row? Although the timer should reset after you transition from jump -> fall -> land. I will take a look.

He is an optional boss, so I feel no need to change him at this time. Unless I decide he is too easy, then I will have to make him harder!

Well, since I havent actually made the armor stats work yet, I just temporarily removed the text. For now, armor is just aesthetic, eventually when I add in the stats, yeah, it will be better.

heh, not airdashing, i mean blitz as in the special move that it costs 300 souls to buy in the pentagram menu thing.
pretty sure my laptop would've been out of the window by now if i hadn't been able to airdash while falling.
what i mean is, see how there's two parts to his fire attack- the part where he shoots the fire at the ground and then it comes up and covers the floor of the arena which you have to dodge by alternating between airdashing and blocking, and then there's the next part where he stays in the middle of the screen and rotates while shooting fire.
it's possible to do about two thirds of his health if, while he is in the second stage of his inferno attack, you run to the far left of the screen, use empower, and then jump and use blitz in midair on him. if you get it right he will be at just the right distance so the spinning sword will be on him for the whole duration of the attack, however a couple of times i would jump and if i mistimed the use of blitz, eva just wouldn't use it and i'd have to wait the entire cooldown before i could use it again, as well as obviously falling into the fire and other bad things happening.
i wasn't able to recreate this outside of the battle- whenever i tried it elsewhere it would allow me to use it while falling. also after a few deaths i just assumed i had been facing away from the mask when using it because that would explain what was happening so after that i took extra special care to make sure i was facing him, and the problem still persisted (it didn't happen all the time- it seemed to be only after i'd recently taken damage, for example if i'd fallen into the inferno but it was about to end, etc.)

You need to make that you can pick fight against arena boss instantly if you had fighted your way to him but you got killed. And somebody tell me how can i defeat that arena boss. Thanks.

Hay, I've been fallowing this project since it was lok rush, I, first would like to say thank you for all the progress you've made, and i love where the game is going. Acouple of things I've noticed while playing: the chains from Brig's attack pop up slightly to the left (the glowy bits are to the right of where the chains break surface) of where visually i'd expect them to, also upon reaching level 11 (with 1002 souls) [I know I grind a lot when playing any game] the skils lust guard and flexiblity do nothing, and buying them does not subtract souls, though it does show the test case skills, and when I go between the hive and the "shit stain island" I notice that on the stats screen my power changes from somewhere around 60 at the hive (I think it was exactly 60 but i don't remember) to around 30 on the small island. I'm not sure if this is supposed to be representitive of the "I get stronger with more followers" thing or just an error or balincing thing you've done... sorry if my spelling/grammer is poor, but thanks for this game so far and I can hardly wait till the next update.

I made it to the wasp guardian and farmed souls to 1000 again. Of course the skills that cost 1000 in Soul Core dont ork yet, but this time I noticed that when I buy them I dont spend souls. Is that intented?

in the previous version the arena's monsters attacked instantly, but now they just appear and keep stand. just that.

Ok, beat the bee guardian. But please, is it possible to make the game smaller? I don't know why, but the fight against the guardian is very laggy. I have already set quality on minimum, but still laggy. Because of that, the guardian is harder than the mask.
Maybe an idea to make the game smaller: divide it in different .swf, one per zone, that use the same save file. (I have already seen games doing that). Since the zones doesn't change except with the chapter progression, you can make a variable for the chapter and the rest is the item/ level gained. (If it is to complicated, don't try.That's okay)

Can someone post video, how to win in arena? I just want to see what to do, and if it is really possible, because I everytame got killed instantly in flames. I tried everything written there, and no success yet (and i am not weak player, I defeated Bridget with my second try, and wasp guard with first try). Thanks.

Gore, not exactly a glitch, but an interesting mechanic:

Getting cornered can mean insta-death, since there is no knockback, the enemy is free to do continuous damage.
This can happen pretty easily with multiple beegirls, and the beeguard if you lured her across the whole screen and cast a spell like honeypot or empower.

To anyone who needs help with the Arena Boss:
Phase 1
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Stand on the right side of the screen, jump and air-dash left.
Stand on the left side of the screen, jump and air-dash right.

Phase 2
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Stand on the right side toward the middle, right underneath the brick texture on the background (very important, timing and placement is crucial).

As soon as the flames hit the ground from the mask, wait a split second, jump as high as you can, and then shield. As soon as the shield wears off, dash right, and shield, facing right again (so you don't lose vertical height).

As soon as the shield wears off, dash left, and continue to alternating sides until there is a clearing on the left side.
Cast Empower, use the same air-dash-shield technique until the mask stops spewing fire.

Phase 3
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

The attack pattern:
Code: Select all
Round 1:    o o 1 o o

Round 2:    2 1 o 1 2

Round 3:    o 1 o 1 o

Round 4:    o o 1 o o (repeat)

o = masks standing still
1/2 = masks attacking that round in succession


The trick is to attack the center mask, and then land safely or have enough time to move into a safe position.

As long as a mask has a red shield up, it can damage you, so it is not safe to be near a mask untill after it is going back upwards.

I was able to hit the mask twice per cycle, once after round 1, landing under the outside mask, and again after round 4, hitting the mask and running to the side again.

Use empower when you can, don't bother healing.

well realy good job. keep up with it, btw I coudnt figure out how to beat the stingers. can someone help me please? i keep dying in that part becoz i cud never kill them or actually reduce their health a bit. everytime I hit the one at ground it disappears and the two above i tried hitting them aswell but it never worked. how the hell do ya defeat them ? please help. Thanks

Thanks for the reply. i tried to mess again with the mask. this time there was the full sex scene and i got the mask armor.

bug report about level up

the experience request to level up is fixed
to get lv 8 you must gain 700 xp and for 9th 800 xp but if you buy something you need far more than 100 xp
