I should be rather surprised if that were not the case, and that reasoning was also clearly behind my question.

WHERE
"do what he wants"
=cause shutting down of brothel to be required for plot progression, THEN
"Deal with it"
=do not bother with plot of videogame/download videogame

Had it been rocket science, I'd have been out of luck since I'm not a rocket scientist, but fortunately it's one of the simplest concepts in creation.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I won't be telling people how to get through the game. You guys can help each other out, but it'd be no fun if the creator just told everyone exactly what to do xP

AllenAndArth Wrote:I finished the entire episode but I can't get the second H-scene from emiko it says I need more exp but I cleared the town and got huntress, what level do I need to be to unlock it?

It's going to be unlocked in the next episode, after you meet someone in the capital. There will be a couple of scenes unlocked each episode, for a couple of women from past episodes. LIke Emiko will have at least one more scene unlocked in the next episode. There will be at least one more as well.

cookie jar Wrote:As for my opinion on the game: It's a nice start, though I got the same feeling ker did in the beginning: "looks a bit bleak/empty".

It gets better once you hit the next town though, as you already pointed out yourself. But as ker already wrote, someone might already be put off by that point.
In addition, some of the maps feel a litte too "organized". Unless their woods are plantations for the lumber industry that is. A little less chess board would feel more organic or realistic. I'm aware that takes a lot more work since I'm used to designing/drawing maps for p&p rpgs for the groups I gm, so I know a bit about the problem.

Other than that, as I already said, I think it's a nice start. Looking forward to where you go with the next chapters. :)

I can understand that, I may go back and change it for Episode II. Since every later episode will include the previous. I'll make sure that you can always transfer your save though, so that you wont have to play through an entire episode again.

As for the forest, since it's the Lost Woods I wanted it to be kind of like a maze. So, I made everything just look the same. Just like how in Zelda when you walk through the Lost Woods, every area looks the same, and it's easy to get...lost xD
I'm also trying to limit the frustration in the game. Having it be literally a maze, in just the first section, and then having another maze puzzle to get to Poison Ivy was a little overkill in my opinion. So, I went with the uniform trees instead.

Glad you're looking forward to the next episode, and thanks for the feedback!

I ask this a lot of games, but you seem to have the beginning of it already:

Judging from the 'Choose your character' section, you're planning to add female players to the list? Or am I just looking too much into it?

I'm confused as to what you mean by "Choose your character" section. There's no option like this in the game O_o

Edit:
I've added a Mega mirror, for those who couldn't download from Depositfiles

Well, I just started playing the game, and almost immediately encountered an issue: I went to Annie Hughes House. I started examining the different things, there, and then spoke to her. Imagine my surprise when I told her that "I've just defeated the Slime Queen." After looking in the editor I see that I seem to have activated some sort of debug event that turns Switch 5 "on", thus making it seem like I have defeated the Slime Queen when I haven't even heard about her. On the same map there's a second debug that event - one that gives +1 Slime Bit. Events such as these two should be made inaccessible before releasing a new version.

EDIT: On the third floor of Tinkerbell's tree two of the fairies use the same switch, so if you defeat one of them you get rid of both.

I should have just come here first for play testing, I can't believe amount of stuff that just went unnoticed that everyone here is finding.
Thanks, you are a HUGE help. I fixed all of the bugs you've mentioned here, as well as the ones mentioned on HF.

Anyway, because of all of this, I've released v1.02. Here are the patch notes.
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Removed debug events
Huntress now gives out the reward for the garden quest
Fairies in level 3 of Tinkerbell's Tree now spawn correctly
You can now talk to the princess after accepting the final quest in Esteria
Remade the Woodley Village map. If you want to transfer your save file to v1.02, make sure you are outside of Woodley first. If you are inside, your file will not be usable.

You can download v1.02 here:
https://mega.co.nz/#!9olRlbBY!CUtgZxpfF ... j0XfbYQvUs

I'll be updating with a mirror as soon as it finishes uploading.

Seems fair enough so far.

I especially like the game's sense of humour, it's great.
The H-content is passable, though the writing specifically could use far more detail and description - but hey, the spelling and grammar are mostly in order, so gratz.
I haven't finished Esteria's quest chain, but here's some stuff I found in the meantime.

Some of this may have been mentioned in either this thread or another one, I haven't the time to check at the moment.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Bugs/Errors
East woodley village is marked as "West" woodley village.

If you turn down Chie after she says you have to let her live with you to buy the house, her dialogue-picture turns into someone else.

If you kill velvet, the Huntress dialogue proceeds as though you had left Velvet alive.
Dead Velvet ain't in your house though, so it's not as though the game on the whole is confused.
I don't propose to check that option if it ever shows up in all future plot interactions, but it's a thing to bear in mind and doublecheck, for you.

The info about houses talks about a big red bed for you and the guildmaster, but in Esteria, there's only a big green bed.
(Unless this is intentional because you're too fucking scared to bed the guildmaster or something.
Sour about not getting any from Huntress, if so.)
(Edit: Lolno, can't fucking read, it says "big bed", nothing about the colour.)

Esteria Bunny Jester's scene talks about "The her giant tits"

Ciao.

Edit2:
Cool, now, having finished the portion of v1's content that I care to see, AND being in less of a hurry, I can take a more leisurely pace and give less of a TL:DR version of my impressions.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

General
The intro explanations and their violence against the fourth wall made me actually laugh aloud.
Pretty pleasant touch.
Actually, a lot of the atmosphere in this game seems to be campy and light-hearted, and the violence against the fourth wall does not go away.
It's pretty fun.

Hell, I ended up laughing at quite a lot of the dialogue.
Dat blue fairy, man.
Also the fact that the kid's REALLY FUCKING BAD at haggling.
ALSO the fucking maneater plant extermination at Velvet's place.
This is great.

Diggin' the persona theme for the chicks in Esteria too, and I hope there's a vaginal fuck scene for Viletta at some time, whether she's sober or willing or not.

The monstergirl thing though, with the reason for 'em being one time only... not a fan.
Not a fan at ALL.
*shrugs*

Mechanics

I recall seeing something about this game having random encounters at one point or another.
It doesn't anymore.
Good show on that.

Errors part 2
About the Chick on the left in Esteria's city hall, the chick to whom you should speak before you can get to see the Queen:
The dialogue box says "She knows your lying",
not you're.

The prostitute hidden in the trees in Esteria is apparently named "Saeko", but she has a different portrait from the Saeko whose house you can't enter.
Mightn't be an error at all, there might just be two Saekos, but eh.
(Also she never introduced herself to the kid, though the narrator knows her name.)

Strange. Not sure why Mega isn't working for you guys. Works fine for me. Might have been a Mega problem, or something.
If anyone else is having this issue, let me know, and for the next version I'll use a different mirror.

Ok, I'll go back and fix the bugs, misspellings, grammar mistakes, and correct the name of East Woodley, then update it tomorrow. Just in case some more stuff comes up.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

General
I'm glad you enjoyed the dialogue, and the little quirks I've given the characters! I was pretty skeptical about that, since most games like this seem to take themselves seriously.

Well, technically the Velvet scene is vaginal, it's just from behind. If you get the house, you can bang her again, except she's actually into it.

Glad you're digging the persona. When I started the game, I was playing Persona 4 Golden, so they were on my mind a lot. Other towns wont really have themes like this though, cause there will be a lot more women(episode 2 will have more than double the number of women, but will only take place in the capital). There's also more persona characters planned for later episodes, I just knew I had to have Chie and Yukiko together, and I just wanted to put Rise in at the time, haha.

I put in a way to replay scenes, but I thought it'd be funner for it to be discovered, instead of telling people where it's at. It's not too hard to find, since it's in every house you own. This way, you can replay the monster girl scenes, as well as get pay scenes for free, after you've paid for them once at least.

Mechanics
Ya, the game originally had random battles. I quickly changed that though, since random battles really make games annoying.

Errors part 2
Ok, I've fixed all the things mentioned. I had put place holder portraits for the characters before I decided exactly who was who, and I just forgot to change some of them. Even then ones in there now, will likely be replaced with original artwork. that totally depends if people care though. I've only had one complaint about it, so I may just leave it.
In reference to how the narrator knows Saeko's name, he's all knowing. He's the narrator after all. xP
Seriously though, that's there for a reason. In addition to just telling people her name, so they can find out where she's from/confirm that it's the right person, I didn't want another "Nice to meet you, I'm ___," scene. Especially not for a random street blowjob.

Thanks for all the feedback! I appreciate it!

Aye, to be sure, you did that and I found that (and I had a laugh at the whole "you can teleport out of your imagination, it's convenient, so don't ask how it's done!" bit)
but when I said "with the reason FOR them being one-time only", I didn't mean "FOR the reason THAT they are one-time only" or more clearly "because they are one-time only".
I meant "with regard to the reason FOR WHICH they are one-time only".
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Specifically, I'm not remotely a fan of the monstergirls dying afterwards.
I'm not personally too big into mixing death with my porn (most of the time...), and more importantly even than that, I'm not particularly happy about the wastage of good monstergirl pussy.
Additionally, it's a shame that having a monstergirl feed from you is fatal, though it does make them a credible threat.
Not a "criticism" of the game or the plot per se, this particular point is literally just me saying that I am not happy about that whole aspect of it myself.

But yeah, overall I'd say it's pretty cool, I'll be waiting for the next ep.

My bad, I misread. Like she said, only her husband gets to do that. In a later episode, probably 5, you'll be able to marry one of the women in the game. Only out of a certain few though, it would be too ridiculous for me to code every woman to be marry-able, as well as add in a wedding scene for each one. Villetta is one of the marry-able ones though. That scene was the reason I even had the idea for a marriage system. If you want to know who's marry-able, it'll be basically anyone with multiple scenes. Threesome scenes don't count towards this though.
I'm considering making it Fable style, so that you can have one wife per town, but I'm not sure yet.

Oh ok, that makes sense. I can understand that.
This is my reasoning behind it.
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

I wanted the majority of the people you interact with to be women, including the bosses. However, I didn't want them all to have that stereotypical, "I know I was trying to kill you and take over the world, but now I love you!" thing going on. I also know that some people are into victory scenes. So, I made them one time scenes where they die afterwards, with an ability to replay them. The idea was that they are the spirits themselves too, just corrupted, so it wouldn't make sense to leave them alive anyway.
Also, almost all of the women in the game only have one scene. There will be some exceptions, like Gwen, Villetta, and Emiko, but for the most part, they will only have a single unlockable scene. With maybe a slight variation, like Velvet had.
Since I'm doing everything alone, it would just take entirely too long for me to make multiple scenes for every woman. Episode 1 alone took me about 5 months to complete. Granted, I had to learn how to use RPG Maker, but that only took a couple of weeks to learn the basics. Out of the rest of the time, it only took me about 1 month to do the coding and maps. The other 3 and a half months of that time was put into making the custom sprites and the CG. So, I just can't effectively have multiple scenes for each woman. The project would take entirely too long, and I'm trying to have episode 3 at least coded by the end of the year, with the final episode, probably 5, coming out next year.
I'm also working on another project(an original non-rpg maker game, which I plan on actually selling) and have irl responsibilities, so that really cuts into my time as well. Since this is a free game I'm doing for the lulz(and to help improve my art skills), I just can't justify dedicating much more time into it.
Hope that makes sense.

I found a bug. Getting the third side quest before doing the first main quest makes you unable to advance. The first main quest allows you to proceed into the forest, and the third side quest requires you to go into the forest in order to find a crossbow.

You should be able to enter the Lost Woods as soon as you arrive in Esteria. Only a part of the forest is accessible at first, but the crossbow you're looking for is in that part, so it should not be a problem to find it.

Updated to v1.03
Hopefully this will be the last version.

Fixed various spelling and grammatical errors.
Correct portraits are now displayed when talking to Chie and trying to enter Saeko's house.

Mega doesn't seem to like Fan Fantasy, so for now, there will just be a depositfiles download. I don't like using any of the other file sharing websites, since they generally have lower speeds. If anyone knows of one that's fast and free, but isn't Mediafire or Mega, let me know, and I'll upload a mirror there.
